Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your driver-guide meets you and transfers you to your hotel (about 20 minutes).
Settle in, unwind from your travels, and ease into Uganda at a relaxed pace.
Enjoy dinner at the hotel and overnight in Entebbe.
After breakfast at your hotel, begin the journey to Kibale National Park, commonly known as the primate capital of the world (approximately 7 hours).
As you drive, watch the landscapes shift - passing through homesteads, towns, and countryside scenes that give you your first real feel for Uganda beyond the city.
Arrive at your lodge/home stay for check-in and a local lunch.
After lunch, head into the community for a community walk and local brew-making experience.
Get hands-on making local gin, taste what you’ve helped create, and hear stories about ancestors and why local brew has long held cultural significance.
In the evening, return to your home stay or nature lodge for dinner and overnight.
Start early with breakfast, then head for your chimp tracking briefing (briefing begins at 7:00 AM).
Set off into Kibale Forest to track chimpanzees - moving through lush greenery where the forest feels alive with primate calls and birdlife.
Return for lunch and a bit of downtime.
In the afternoon, join a women’s group for a basket weaving workshop using natural dyes (around 3 hours). Learn the process from start to finish - collecting materials, preparing colors, and weaving alongside local artisans.
Evening at leisure with dinner and overnight at home stay or nature lodge.
Begin the day with a hands-on traditional cooking experience at the home stay - this is “farm-to-kitchen” in the most authentic way. Harvest matoke (banana), and gather ingredients like sweet potato, cassava, pumpkin, and millet. Join in traditional preparation - grinding millet, collecting firewood, and cooking in the style of a traditional Mutoro woman. Share lunch served on a mat, as it would be at home.
After lunch, transfer to a beautiful, UN-award winning community lodge near the Rwenzori Mountains and settle in, enjoying some down time with beautiful mountain views.
Dinner and overnight in the lodge, with cool mountain air and a slower rhythm.
After an early breakfast, set out on a guided hill hike (about 3–4 hours), rising from roughly 1,600m to 2,000m.
Pause at viewpoints where - on clear days - you can see toward Margherita Peak, plus rivers and Lake George in the distance.
Descend back to the community for lunch.
In the afternoon, join a lively cultural session with Bakonzo dance and drumming lessons - an energising, participatory experience.
Return to the lodge to relax, then dinner and overnight for another peaceful night in the mountains.
Depart very early to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park in the morning.
Begin with a morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks and the Queen’s Mile, scanning for classic savannah wildlife.
Later, board a Kazinga Channel boat cruise - a standout safari moment for hippos, crocodiles, shoreline wildlife (including elephants if you're lucky!), and birds.
After the cruise, transfer to a beautiful eco-lodge nestled between two lakes for check-in and lunch.
In the afternoon, visit the Twin Lakes and enjoy a community walk - an easy-paced cultural add-on that complements the wildlife day beautifully.
Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
After breakfast, spend the morning with the Katara women’s group for a “garden to cup” coffee experience - learning how coffee is grown, cared for, harvested, and transformed. Roast, brew, and taste coffee together - an intimate, sensory experience that’s as much about people as it is about the cup. Continue with an inspiring demonstration of elephant dung paper-making, seeing how waste becomes craft and income.
Then drive toward Bwindi via the Ishasha sector (about 4 hours), famous for tree-climbing lions (sightings are never guaranteed, but the area is iconic).
Arrive in Buhoma and check in at your guesthouse, hosted by an incredible community initiative supporting local women. Started in 2009, this charitable organization was set up to empower women socially and economically in the local community of Bwindi, Uganda. What started as bike tours, where proceeds went to women struggling with poverty, domestic violence, and HIV, has now turned into an organisation that supports over 300 women from 11 villages.
End the day with a community walk, then dinner and overnight at your guesthouse.
Rise early for breakfast, then transfer to Bwindi headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Trek into the forest with trackers and guides (typically 2 - 6 hours depending on gorilla location). Once you find your gorilla family, spend a powerful one hour in their presence - quiet, close, and unforgettable.
Return for lunch and time to decompress.
In the afternoon, enjoy hands-on activities with the community organization - such as sewing and basket weaving - learning more about their culture and traditions, while having a positive impact on the local community.
Dinner and overnight at your guesthouse.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi (about 3 hours) and check in at an incredible eco-retreat. Only accessible by boat, this unique resort will immerse you in the beauty of the lake while connecting you to the community and their ways of life.
Enjoy lunch with lake views and a slower pace.
In the afternoon, head out for a community walk - visiting communities, tasting local porridge, and listening to cultural stories that bring the area to life.
Optional time to relax and swim.
Dinner and overnight in your geodome.
After breakfast, set out by canoe to explore Lake Bunyonyi’s islands—quiet water, layered hills, and a calm you’ll feel immediately.
Visit Punishment Island and learn the history behind its name - one of the most thought-provoking stops of the trip.
Continue with a hike up to a viewpoint for panoramic lake scenes, then take a peaceful moment to sit, reflect, and simply be present.
Afterward, meet community members - see women’s basket weaving, visit farms, and step into local homes for genuine conversation and connection.
Return to the lodge by canoe. Dinner and overnight in your geodome.
After breakfast, drive toward Lake Mburo National Park (about 4–5 hours), passing through Uganda’s cattle corridor - open landscapes and long-horn silhouettes along the way.
Arrive in the afternoon, check in, and enjoy lunch.
Later, head out for an afternoon game drive - look for zebra, impala, topi, giraffe, and (with luck) leopard. Finish near the lake for hippos and rich birdlife viewing.
Dinner and overnight at a lodge bordering the national park.
After breakfast, join a guided walking safari with a ranger - Lake Mburo is one of Uganda’s best places to experience wildlife on foot. Learn to read the bush through tracks, signs, and fresh clues, while approaching wildlife at a more intimate pace.
Continue toward the lake for water wildlife and birdlife, then return to camp.
In the afternoon, enjoy the Ankole cultural/community farm experience - a grounded, human finale to the safari portion of your journey.
Dinner and overnight at a lodge bordering the national park.
After breakfast, begin the drive back to Entebbe (about 4 - 5 hours, traffic dependent).
Stop at the Equator crossing for photos and a quick stretch - your final iconic Uganda moment.
Continue to Entebbe for airport drop-off (evening flight recommended).
